Screen shots of the exchange, which appears to be genuine, were posted on social content websites "Digg" and "lamebook", whose users highlight amusing finds from Facebook.
The pair's surnames have been blocked out to protect their identities but their profile pictures are visible on Digg. The exchange has since gone viral and is spreading like wildfire on emails worldwide and blogs all over the internet.
The majority of readers' comments suggest that the mystery woman deserved to be sacked for stupidity. One lamebook user commented: "I used to talk badly about my job and employers all the time.
"I just made sure I wasn't telling the entire internet or any vague sources."
Another reader said: "This was the equivalent of trash-talking your boss to your friends loudly at the top of your lungs while forgetting that your boss was not only still in the room but standing next to you.
"This is proof that just because you can publicly announce every thought you have on Facebook, it still doesn't mean you should."
